    Returning Student Registration 2024-2025

    Enrollment for returning students who completed the 2023-2024 school year in ÐÓ°É Public Schools is open. Returning student registration will begin Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Families can complete registration using the PowerSchool Enrollment Portal.  Parents must have a Snapcode in order to complete registration. If you need assistance with completing registration, please contact your child's school, or send an email to psparentportal@jackson.k12.ms.us. All emails will receive a response within 24 hours.

    Required Documents for Enrollment

    • Two (2) Proofs of Residency - Copy of mortgage document, filed homestead exemption, property deed, or current lease agreement AND one (1) current utility bill (gas, water & sewer, Entergy, home phone or internet) OR Driver's License, Voter Registration Card, Automobile Registration/Insurance, DHS or IRS documents from current year showing residence property address.


    • Student's Mississippi Immunization Form 121/122 (If your child is entering the seventh grade, a pertussis (Tdap) booster is now required if they have not received a Tdap vaccination since the age of seven)
    • Note: Only one document will be accepted from each group.

     

    Shared Residency Registration

    Parents/legal guardians of scholars who reside with someone else and do not have the required proof of residency documents should complete a Shared Residency Affidavit and Notification of Penalties Form.? Parents of these?scholars should contact Enrollment Services to enrollThe office is located in the Poindexter Administrative Complex, located at 1017 Robinson Street.

     

    The?primary homeowner?shall provide?two (2) proofs of residency. The accepted proof of residency is:? 

    The?enrolling parent/legal guardian?must submit at least one proof of residency that displays the address of the homeowner/primary resident. The accepted proof of residency is:? 

    • Copy of mortgage document 
    • Filed homestead exemption 
    • Property deed 
    • Current lease agreement  

    Lease/Rental Agreements must be within the current year or show a month-to-month stipulation after the expiration year.

    AND 

    • one (1) current utility bill (Atmos Energy, ÐÓ°É Water & Sewer, or Entergy) or Voter Registration Card showing a residence property address.  

    All utility bills must be within the last 60 days.  

    OR 

    • Government-issued photo identification 
    • Driver's license 
    • Voter registration card 
    • Federal immigration documents 
    • Automobile Registration/Insurance 
    • DHS/IRS Documents 

    All documents must be from the current year showing the residence property address.

    McKinney-Vento (Homeless) Registration

    The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (McKinney-Vento Act) ensures homeless children and youth have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education, including public preschool education, as provided for other children and youths. It has most recently been reauthorized under the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).? 

    Parents of these?scholars should contact Enrollment Services to enroll. The office is located in the Poindexter Administrative Complex, located at 1017 Robinson Street.

     

    Foster Care Registration

    Foster care is a system in which a minor has been placed into a ward, group home, or private home of a state-covered caregiver, referred to as a "foster parent", or with a family member approved by the state. The placement of the child is normally arranged through the government or a social service agency.

    Social Workers should contact Enrollment Services to enroll. The office is located in the Poindexter Administrative Complex, located at 1017 Robinson Street.
